Military strikes and reprisal attacks have occurred in several countries across the neighbouring Middle East region, following strikes on Iran. Missile strikes have been intercepted over Türkiye. Turkish authorities advised some debris from an intercepting missile had fallen over southern Türkiye. . Airspace closures and flight disruptions have occurred due to the conflict, causing delays and cancellations. These closures may continue to occur at short notice.

There are more significant safety or security concerns than you would usually find in New Zealand due to the heightened risk of terrorism. There have been terrorist attacks in Türkiye, including in places visited by foreigners.
