Find out about the Schengen area and the rules for New Zealanders travelling between countries in that area.
The Schengen area is a group of 29 European countries with common border rules. Once you have entered the Schengen area, you can travel freely between Schengen area countries without going through border controls. However New Zealanders are advised to always carry their passports with them when crossing borders, in case of being questioned.
